An important part of addressing a cyberbullying situation is keeping a record of what has happened. It’s tempting for children who are being cyberbullied to delete messages and other bullying content sent to them, especially if they … Click to Continue reading
Why would four suspects in Chicago broadcast the torture of a man on Facebook Live?
Two men and two women in Chicago were arrested and charged Thursday with kidnapping and torturing a man, slicing off a piece of his hair, down to his scalp, with a knife. Many people were witness to the assault, because it was streamed on Facebook Live.
Jordan Hill, Tesfaye Cooper, Brittany Covington, all 18, and Tanishia Covington, who is … Click to Continue reading
The last few days have been pretty hard for me, so I went back to writing to help clear my mind. A little poetry before bed….
One act of kindness is all I ask, from each and every one…
To share a smile, to hold a door…
That’s all that need be done.
With each selfless act you give,
a gift you’ll soon receive…
To give a gift a kindness is to help someone believe.
A light has lit inside my heart that once was faint and dim…
But now it shines for all to see – a light of love for him.
A path was born from hate and violence, an act disgusting and wrong.
But now we have a movement of love – we now have Jordanstrong
Today I was visited by Octavia Lindlahr and three of her amazing students. They gave Jordan a collection of healing stones the kids painted and blessed with healing prayers. Once again, I am shown the greatness of humanity. Octavia had this to say, “Three of my favorite children (and FLOW students) and I, went on an “Adventure of Goodwill’ yesterday! They delivered the healing stones that their FLOW class made to Ed Peisner, and his son Jordan. Jordan was seriously assaulted through a reckless act of bullying and almost lost his life! The kids in FLOW made “healing stones” and mantra’ed for his safety”.
Thank you Octavia for your warmth and support.
I took Jordan for his first appointment at the Children’s Hospital concussion clinic today. The doctors and nurses were, as expected, wonderful. This was followed up by another brain scan (MRI) to check on the clot and… Click to Continue reading
Jordan and I stopped by to meet with my attorney and friend Paul Philips and his awesome partner Monica. Jordan was extremely surprised when they handed him a new deck signed by Tony Hawk. Although he might not be able to skate anymore but this made his day. Thank you Paul and Monica – you two are amazing.
Why? This is the question Jordan wants answered. Why did this happen to me? Why can’t I try out for the football team next year? Why can’t I ride my skateboard? Why can’t I go on roller coasters? Why do I have to stay at home and limit what I do? Why, Why, Why? I know there is so much more to life than this but for a fourteen-year-old boy who was always active, there really isn’t. My love for all of my children cannot be explained. It runs deeper than any ocean and grows exponentially by the minute. It is a love that no one can possibly imagine unless … Click to Continue reading
WEST HILLS (CBSLA.com) — Hundreds of students and families took to the streets of West Hills Saturday for a march against bullying (Click here for the full video). The students were marching and walking in support of Jordan Peisner, the 14-year-old who suffered critical injuries two weeks ago after being sucker-punched outside a Wendy’s. Jordan was hit, without provocation, by a 15-year-old he didn’t know.
He suffered a fractured skull, punctured eardrum and … Click to Continue reading
It’s 9:00pm on Saturday and I’m exhausted. But my exhaustion comes from a good place. Today I witnessed an outpouring of love and support that has truly humbled me. Hundreds and hundreds of people from near and far turned out in support of my son Jordan and others that have fallen victim to the atrocities of bullies. Today was just the spark; today my mission was made clear; today I began a fight that I will not back down from. There are so many people I have to thank but I cannot list them all here. You all know who you are, today was a day that YOU made happen. I promise to not let your efforts go to waste – I will make a difference in the life of a child. I love you all so much and I am blessed you are part of my life. Sincerely, Jordan’s Dad
